Nominations open for ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Awards

Nominations are now open for this year’s annual Sports Humanitarian Awards. Now in its fourth year, the evening, which takes place annually in July, recognizes seven incredible changemakers that are using the power of sports to uplift communities.

The Sports Humanitarian Awards celebrate and honor athletes, teams, nonprofits and members of the sports industry for using sport to serve community and make a positive impact on society. Held this year on July 17 in Los Angeles, this celebration brings together the leagues and sporting community to pay tribute to the collective good of sports in the United States.

One of the awards includes the Corporate Community Impact Award, which recognizes a US-based corporation that uses the power of sports to help advance a social issue, cause or community organization. This may include:

– A cause marketing campaign to raise funds or awareness for a charitable organization

– Sponsorship of a league/team’s community program

– A community relations/corporate citizenship program that uses sports to advance a nonprofit’s mission

The winner will receive a $100,000 grant to their charity of choice, and three finalists will receive a $25,000 grant to their charity of choice.

Honorees will be recognized across ESPN platforms, as well as during the dinner, which features special guests from the entertainment industry, a selection of Napa Valley’s best wines, world-class cuisine, and the company of some of sport’s most celebrated.
