STEM SPORTS® ANNOUNCES NEW DOUBLE PLAY CURRICULUM CAMPAIGNS FOR CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR

With school back in full swing, STEM Sports® announces the start of two new “Double Play” initiatives for the new school year. The first initiative focuses on the innovative educational enrichment programs that combine STEM disciplines with sports. Meanwhile, the second initiative offers a unique opportunity for sports organizations to cultivate a young fan and aid community outreach ventures.

“Our focus is on ensuring elementary and middle school-aged students enjoy learning the science that is behind all sports,” said STEM Sports President and CEO Jeff Golner. “Our STEM curriculum creates an engagement with young students that will perpetuate their continued education and subsequent career potential in STEM fields.”

The double play method of combining cognitive learning and physical activity is the foundation laid behind the original curricula, STEM Basketball, STEM BMX, and STEM Volleyball. This process has continued with the release of the STEM Soccer, STEM Football, and STEM Multi-Sport curricula.

Each curriculum contains eight modules that are equal parts education, athletics, and physical activity. The programs are strategically designed to tie STEM-based activities with basic game-play and hot topics surrounding the sport. The turnkey kits come with an instructor’s manual, aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards, and includes all of the required sports and science equipment.

Currently, over 800 STEM Sports kits are being implemented in schools and after-school programs around the United States.

Additionally, opportunities for professional sports franchises and college athletic departments to private label or co-brand STEM Sports program kits are available as the second “Double Play” initiative. Collaborations offer a sports franchise or an athletic department to promote education with their community outreach efforts and can to be supported with corporate partnership funding.

“We’ve had several outstanding meetings with officials from the NBA, MLS and NFL franchises and league offices,” said Golner. “We hope to announce partnerships with several sports entities soon to go along with our official relationships with USA BMX and USA Volleyball.”

Lastly, on August 28, 2018, the company received Supplemental Registration status from the United States Patent and Trademark office in September, granting its brand as STEM Sports®.
